Aces, Flyers advance to O'Leary RHL final

O’LEARY – The Tignish Aces and Mill River Flyers each won their respective semifinal series in the O’Leary Recreational Hockey League at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre recently.

The Flyers defeated the Cape Wolfe Maroons 5-3, and the Aces downed the Elmsdale Pogey Train 4-2 in the clinchers. Both teams swept the best-of-three semifinals.

The Aces and Flyers will now meet in the best-of-three final series.

Flyers 5 Maroons 3

Mike Adams and Lukas Dyment each scored twice to lead the Flyers, who also received a single goal from Sandy Shea.

Scott Bernard, Kyle Cooke and Morgan Cooke replied for the Maroons.

Aces 4 Pogey Train 2

Jason Hackett netted a brace while Ricky Hackett and Dwayne Handrahan added single goals.

The scorers for Elmsdale are unavailable.
