Kings force deciding game Tuesday

MONTAGUE – The best-of-five P.E.I. Midget Female AAA Hockey League championship series is going the limit.

Mikayla McGuirk’s third goal of the game early in the second overtime period lifted the Kings County Kings to a 4-3 win over the Mid-Isle Wildcats on Sunday afternoon. The Kings’ win sets the stage for a fifth and deciding game at the APM Centre in Cornwall on Tuesday at 8:40 p.m.

At the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre, the Wildcats led 1-0 after the first period, and the teams were tied 2-2 following the second frame.

Haley Irving also scored for the Kings while Makayla Oatway, Sasha Joyce and Marilyn Fortin found the back of the net for the Wildcats.

Winning goaltender was Emily Brothers. Jacqueline Hughes tended goal for Mid-Isle.
