Bantam Abbies force deciding game in O’Leary on Sunday

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Charlottetown Abbies and Western Maroons are going the limit in the best-of-five semifinal series in the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League playoffs.

The Abbies edged the Maroons 3-2 on Friday night to even the series 2-2. The deciding contest will be played at the O’Leary Community Sports Centre on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

At Simmons Sport Centre in Charlottetown, Ryan May, Dallen Bulger and Thomas Casey scored for the Abbies. Kallum Muirhead (2), Chris McQuaid, Jacob Hood and Tyler Hashmi assisted.

For the Maroons, Diego LeClair and Brayden Handrahan found the back of the net. Isaac Knox added an assist.

Winning goaltender was Ava Boutilier. Bronson Banks was between the pipes for the Maroons, who were assessed three of the game’s five minor penalties.
