In road win over Dieppe
DIEPPE, N.B. – A pair of affiliated players from Kensington combined on the game-winning goal for the Summerside Western Capitals on Thursday night.
Kyle Doucette, who was set up by Jordan Mayhew, scored at 11:46 of the second period to give the Caps a 3-0 lead over the Dieppe Commandos, and that goal proved to be the difference in a 3-2 victory. Doucette and Mayhew are linemates with the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers of the Island Junior Hockey League.
The MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) game was played before 258 fans at the Arthur J. LeBlanc Arena.
Brad Power and Thomas Stavert, who extended his point streak to 13 games, also scored for the Capitals, who improved to 23-23-2-3 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses). Blaize Bridges (2), Maxim Pitre and Brett Doiron chipped in with assists.
Michael Hache and former Capital Colton Parsons answered for the Commandos (28-16-2-5).
The Capitals took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission after a scoreless first period.
Overall, the Commandos outshot the Capitals 33-22. Simon-Pier Chamberland was the winning goaltender, and Vincent Charest took the loss.

The Capitals will close out the regular season by visiting the Campbellton Tigers on Friday night.
The Caps open the best-of-seven Roger Meek Division semifinal series in Miramichi, N.B., on Saturday, March 15, and will host Game 2 on Monday, March 17, at 7 p.m.
