TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces are headed back to the championship series in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.

Brett Gaudet’s goal 3:13 into the second overtime period gave the Aces a 5-4 victory over the Belfast Sabres on Sunday night. The Aces won the best-of-five semifinal in four games, and will await the winner of the Souris Hawks-Southside Lynx series. The Lynx and Hawks will play a deciding Game 5 in Crapaud on Wednesday at 8:20 p.m.
The Aces will be appearing in the league final for the seventh straight year, and they have won five of the last six championships.

In the series-clinching win at the Tignish Credit Union Arena, the Aces outshot the Sabres 51-47, including a 10-5 advantage in overtime.
Gaudet also scored during regulation time and added an assist for a three-point night, and Karter Hackett also picked up three points – one goal and two assists – and was selected as the Regal Cresting player of the game.
Riley Shea (1-1) and Charlie Bernard netted the other Tignish goals, with assists going to Kirk Ramsay (2), Traven Gaudet, Tyler Richard and Dillan Rayner.
For the Sabres, Matthew Glover (1-2), Connor Lea, Cody Garnhum and Cody McGuirk found the back of the net. Simon VanWeichen (2), Brady Doiron and Keirsten Steele chipped in with helpers.
The Aces led 1-0 after the first period, and 4-3 following 40 minutes.
Jake Hackett earned the goaltending win over Ben Ladner.
Referee Justin DesRoches called a total of six minor penalties in the game – four of those against Belfast.
