SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Western Capitals got back on the winning track in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) on Sunday afternoon.

After dropping a 5-2 road decision to the Amherst Ramblers on Saturday night, the Capitals closed out the home portion of their regular-season schedule with a 4-2 win over the Valley Wildcats before 840 fans at Eastlink Arena.

Thomas Stavert (1-1), Brad Power (1-1), Alex Bradley and Lucas Blomquist scored for the Capitals, who improved to 22-23-2-3 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses).

Jean-Marc Evans-Renaud of St. Peter’s and Mike Molloy replied for the Wildcats (19-26-4-1).

Winning goaltender was Simon-Pier Chamberland.
