Wild’s Jay, Webster named all-stars

MONCTON, N.B. – Two members of the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild were named New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League all-stars during the annual awards presentations recently.

Defenceman Bailey Webster was named to the first all-star team while forward Sam Jay earned a spot on the second team.

Webster, who has been recalled by the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on two different occasions this season, was the Wild’s top-scoring defenceman. He had 25 points – five goals and 20 assists – in 31 regular-season games.

Jay registered a team-leading 44 points in 33 regular-season games on the strength of 17 goals and 27 assists.


The Wild hosts the Charlottetown Islanders in Game 1 of the best-of-seven provincial major midget championship series on Saturday night. The opening faceoff at Community Gardens is set for 7:30 p.m.

Game 2 goes at MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus on Sunday at 1:45 p.m.

Top goal-scorer – Ryan Chiasson, Moncton Flyers.

Top play-maker – Curtis Hastings, Saint John Vitos.

Top goaltending duo – Julian Galloway and Maxim Landry, Moncton Flyers.
