With road win in Belfast

BELFAST – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces have gained home-ice advantage in their best-of-five semifinal series against the Belfast Sabres in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.

The Aces won Game 1 by a 4-2 score at the Belfast Rec. Centre on Sunday night. The series resumes at the Tignish Credit Union Arena on Friday at 7:30 p.m., with Game 3 back in Belfast on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Riley Shea led the Aces with two goals in the series opener. Charlie Bernard and Brett Gaudet added single tallies.

Nolan Irving and Matt Glover answered for the Sabres.

The Aces held period leads of 3-1 and 4-2.

Chase Dyment registered the goaltending win, and Jason Whiteway was the goaltender of record for Belfast.

Referee Travis Timmons assessed three minor penalties against each team.
