In Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League playoffs

CRAPAUD – The Southside Lynx will finally get to play a playoff game in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League playoffs on Saturday.

The Lynx will host the Souris Hawks in Game 1 of the best-of-five semifinal series at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud. The opening faceoff is set for 7:40 p.m.

The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces will visit the Belfast Sabres in the opener of the other semifinal series on Sunday at 8 p.m. Game 2 will be back in Tignish on Friday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m.

Long break

Saturday will mark the Lynx’s first game since their regular-season finale on Feb. 3.

The Lynx, because of their first-place finish in the regular season on the strength of a 23-2-3 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses), had a bye in the opening round of the playoffs.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are coming off a three-game sweep of the Summerside Source for Sports Capitals in the quarter-finals.

Both the Aces and Sabres needed four games to win their respective quarter-final series against the North River Flames and Sherwood Falcons.

The Aces are the defending league champions.
