CORNWALL – The defending-champion Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces have advanced to the next round of the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League playoffs.

The Aces doubled the North River Flames 6-3 on Monday night. The victory gave the Aces a 3-1 series victory in the best-of-five quarter-final.
The Aces, who finished the regular season in third place, now advance to face the second-place Belfast Sabres in a best-of-five semifinal series. That series is expected to start this weekend.
At the APM Centre in Cornwall, the Aces overcame a 2-0 deficit after one period. Tignish tied the score 2-2 before the second intermission, and then outscored the Flames 4-1 in the final 20 minutes.
Brett Gaudet’s three-goal performance led the way for the Aces, who received single goals from Karter Hackett (1-1), Tyson Carragher (1-1) and Troy Gallant (1-1). Riley Shea (2), Jacob LeClair, Kirk Ramsay and Calvin McRae chipped in with assists.
For the Flames, Cameron MacMurdo (1-1), Everett McQuaid and Ryan McGuigan dented the twine. Craig Campbell and Brady McQuaid assisted.
Chase Dyment picked up the goaltending win over Taylor Doyle. The final shots-on-goal totals were 29-24 in favour of Tignish.
Referee Wayne Doyle called a total of nine minor penalties in the game – five of those against the Aces.
