Islanders snap 12-game slide

CHARLOTTETOWN – Alexandre Goulet scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Charlottetown Islanders a much-needed 4-3 win over the Moncton Wildcats here at Eastlink Centre on Thursday night.

The win snapped the Islanders’ 12-game losing streak in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Troy Vance, former Summerside Western Capital Craig MacLauchlan and David Henley scored in regulation time for the Islanders, who are now 18-33-1-4 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses).

Vladimir Tkachev (2) and Christophe Lalonde countered for Moncton (29-25-0-3).

Winning goaltender was Eric Brassard.

The game attracted 1,841 fans.
