Webster, a right-handed-shooting defenceman, suited up with the Sea Dogs in Wednesday night’s 4-2 home-ice loss to Gatineau in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). He will remain with the Sea Dogs for Friday’s home game against the Moncton Wildcats and Sunday’s road contest versus the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
This is the second time this season the 16-year-old son of Jason and Tara Webster of Kelvin Grove, near Kensington, has been recalled by the Sea Dogs. Webster has appeared in four regular-season games and has three assists, two penalty minutes and is a minus-1.
The Sea Dogs drafted Webster in the seventh round, 113th overall, in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft.
In 30 regular-season games in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League, Webster is third in team scoring with the Wild. He has 24 points – four goals and 20 assists – and 16 penalty minutes.
The Wild will play their final home game of the regular season at Community Gardens against the Moncton Flyers on Saturday. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
