KENSINGTON – It’s shaping up to be a big weekend for the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers.

Dylan McQuaid has recorded 14 of the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers’ 22 wins in the 2013-14 Island Junior Hockey League regular season. The Vipers play two huge games this weekend.

The Vipers go into weekend play with a four-point lead over the second-place Montague Maniacs in the Island Junior Hockey League. They travel to Simmons Sport Centre in Charlottetown to take on the Holland College Hurricanes on Saturday at 8:15 p.m., and return home to Community Gardens for a much-anticipated showdown with the Maniacs on Sunday at 7 p.m.

The Vipers are 22-4-0 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses), and the Maniacs took a 19-6-2 record into Friday’s home game against the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Flyers.

Depending on the outcome of Friday and Saturday’s games, first place could be at stake on Sunday.

The Vipers, who have only played three games since Jan. 15, have six games remaining in the regular season.
