Morrissey’s power-play goal lifts Maroons past Matrix

KENSINGTON – Connor Morrissey’s power-play goal with 2:50 remaining in the first period proved to be the difference for the Western Maroons on Tuesday night.

Morrissey’s goal broke a 1-1 tie, and sent the Maroons to a 2-1 road win over the Mid-Isle Matrix in the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League.

Donavan Wyand’s unassisted goal opened the scoring for the Matrix. Tristan Cahill, who was set up by Isaac Knox, tied the score for the Maroons.

Winning goaltender was Bronson Banks. Tyler Caseley was between the pipes for Mid-Isle.
