CORNWALL – The Mid-Isle Matrix made it 14 wins in a row on Tuesday night.

The Matrix downed the Kings County Kings 6-1 in a P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game at the APM Centre.
The victory improved the second-place Matrix’s record to 19-6-1 (won-lost-tied), and closed the gap on the league-leading Western Regals (19-3-4) to three points. Those two teams will clash at the Jacques Cartier Arena in Alberton on Saturday night.
Against Kings County, Cody Miller had two goals and an assist to lead the way offensively for the Matrix. Liam O’Connor (1-1), Jacob Stewart (1-1), James Murphy and Braeden Stewart rounded out the scoring, with assists going to Evan Noonan (2), Matt Dickieson, Brady VanderVelden, Brennon Jarvis, Easton Smith and Matt Craig.
Keirsten Steele, assisted by Matt MacEwen, answered for the Kings (6-14-4).
The Matrix led 1-0 after the first period, and took a 3-0 cushion into the second intermission.
Winning goaltender was Sean MacPhee.
Mid-Isle was assessed seven minor penalties and one double minor while the Kings picked up three minors and three double minors.
