OTTAWA – The UNB Varsity Reds, coached by Bedeque native Gardiner MacDougall, have moved up one position to No. 2 in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) men’s hockey rankings.

The reigning University Cup-champion Reds, who lead the Atlantic University Sport conference at 20-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses), also received a pair of first-place votes in the latest rankings that were released on Tuesday.

The University of Alberta Golden Bears have taken over the No. 1 ranking from the Calgary Dinos, who lost twice last weekend.

The Acadia Axemen and Moncton Blue Eagles are the other two AUS schools to crack the top 10. The Axemen (18-3-3) are ranked fourth while the Blue Eagles are eighth.
