Southside gets by North River in low-scoring affair

CORNWALL – The Southside Lynx pulled out a 3-1 victory over the North River Flames in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League here at the APM Centre on Saturday night.

Rob Miller, Brandon Green and Cody Dawson scored for the regular-season-champion Lynx, who now sports a record of 22-2-3 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses). Greg Beckingham (2), Andy Murphy and Alex MacLeod chipped in with assists.

Brady McQuaid, assisted by Lal Hennessey, netted the lone goal for the Flames (8-16-3).

The Lynx led 1-0 after the first and second periods.

John Miller earned the goaltending win over Kurt Willis.

Referee Chas McNeill three of five minor penalties against the Lynx.
