SLEMON PARK – Organizers for the upcoming Ultimate Hockey Fan Dinner, Draw and Auction have announced former NHLers Forbes Kennedy and Charlie Bourgeois will join Boston Bruin Legend Terry O’Reilly as special guests for the event.

“We are very excited to have them both join us along with Terry O’Reilly,” said Slemon Park Plex Inc. president Jeff Leard. “Forbie actually coached Scott Bridges, who manages The Plex, and Charlie Bourgeois is president of the Atlantic Hockey Group that operates Xtreme Hockey, a major tenant during the spring and summer at The Plex.
“There should be no shortage of great stories!”
Forbes Kennedy is a hockey legend on P.E.I. He played 603 career NHL games with Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Philadelphia and Toronto. He scored 70 goals and added 108 assists for 178 points. He also accumulated 988 penalty minutes.
Kennedy is also well known for giving back to the game. He has served as head coach of many teams, including the Charlottetown Abbies and Summerside Western Capitals’ junior A squads.
Bourgeois, a towering defenceman, played 290 games in the NHL with Calgary, St. Louis and Hartford. He was also head coach of the Moncton Hawks, and led them to the American Hockey League final in 1994.
Bourgeois also coached the Moncton University Blue Eagles to an Atlantic University Sport championship.
The Ultimate Hockey Fan Dinner, Draw and Auction takes place at Anson’s Restaurant at Slemon Park on Saturday, Feb. 15. Tickets are $200, with a maximum of 200 to be sold.
The main prizes for the draws include six trips for two to attend NHL games in Montreal and Toronto, which includes airfare, hotel and tickets to the game.
There are also a number of great autographed NHL jerseys available for the auction. It is also possible to purchase an extra meal if two people would like to share a ticket for the trip draws.
