Falcons visit on Friday night

TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces will close out the regular season in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League at home on Friday.

The Sherwood Falcons will visit Credit Union Arena for a 7:30 p.m. start.

Even though the Falcons are last in the league standings, they have been playing a lot better since the Christmas holidays and the third-place Aces are not taking them for granted.

An Aces’ win will clinch third place as they hope to fend off the Summerside Source for Sports Capitals, who trail Tignish by two points and have two games left.

The Aces do hold the tiebreaker, which is a better record between the teams in head-to-head matchups.

Aces forward Andrew Doucette is coming of a strong game last Friday, and his efforts earned him the Regal Cresting player of the game.

The Aces lost two of three games last weekend, but snapped the losing streak with a solid 6-2 victory in Souris on Sunday.

The playoffs are just around the corner, and the intensity has picked up and the Aces were involved in a few spirited scraps last weekend. Although some suspensions resulted in one of the scraps, Aces coach Mike O’Halloran likes the way his team is pulling together as they approach the playoffs.

Organizations: Credit Union Arena, Summerside Source for Sports Capitals
