KENSINGTON – The Saint John Vitos outlasted the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild 9-7 in a New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League game here at Community Gardens on Wednesday night.
Colin MacSween scored four goals to lead the first-place Vitos, who improved to 21-7-1 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses). Jean-Michel LeBlanc, Sam King, Will Kelly, Logan Saunders and Curtis Hastings also scored.
Max Morrison (2-3) and Bailey Webster (1-4) each had five points to lead the Wild (11-15-3). Cole Hackett (2-1), Kyle Pinksen (1-2) and Sam Jay (1-1) rounded out Kensington’s scoring.
The Wild led 3-2 after the first period, but the Vitos took a 5-3 advantage into the second intermission.
Kyle Porter earned the goaltending win over Bradley Shea.
The Wild was called for six minors and one checking-from-behind game misconduct. Saint John picked up three minor penalties.
The Wild’s next home game is Saturday against the Charlottetown Islanders. Game time at the Gardens is 7:30 p.m.
