CHARLOTTETOWN – Southside Lynx forward Colton Dawson and Summerside Source for Sports Capitals goaltender Catlin Sonier have been recognized as the players of the week in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.

Dawson took the offensive award while Sonier received the defensive honour.

Dawson had a big four-point night in a 7-5 road win over the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces on Friday night.

Dawson added a goal and two assists in other weekend action for the Crapaud-based Lynx, who clinched first place and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Sonier played a big role in the Capitals’ hot run in January. His two victories brought the Caps’ record to 7-2 (won-lost) in 2014, and Sonier has been between the pipes in every game.

The Capitals have been climbing up the standings, and have one more weekend to improve their playoff spot.

In two games last week, Sonier had two wins and stopped 51 of 54 shots for a .944 save percentage.
