UNB maintains No. 3 spot in CIS rankings

OTTAWA – The University of New Brunswick (UNB) Varsity Reds maintained the No. 3 position in this week’s Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s hockey rankings.

The Reds, coached by Bedeque native Gardiner MacDougall, are 18-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) and tied with the Acadia Axemen atop the Atlantic University Sport standings. Acadia, which is 17-2-3, is the fourth-ranked team in the nation.

UNB defeated the St. Thomas Tommies 6-4 and UPEI Panthers 5-4 in overtime last weekend.

Moncton (13-8-0) is the only other AUS team in the top-10 rankings.
