Teams meet again in Kensington on Saturday night
KENSINGTON – The Miramichi Rivermen jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the game was four minutes old, and never looked back on Friday night.

The Rivermen went on to build period leads of 3-0 and 3-1 en route to a 3-1 final over the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild. The New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League game was played at Community Gardens.
Francis Thibeault scored twice while Zach Foulem added a single to account for Miramichi’s scoring.
Colton Chiasson, assisted by Max Morrison and Cole Hackett, netted the lone Wild goal.
Daniel Vautour turned aside 35 of 36 shots in earning the goaltending win. Wild starter Bradley Shea gave up three goals on eight shots before he was relieved by Cameron Visser following the Rivermen’s third goal at 13:51 of the opening period. Visser gave up one goal on 23 shots the rest of the way.
The Rivermen improved to 20-8-0 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses) while the Wild fell to 10-14-3.
The two teams are back at the Gardens on Saturday night for a 7:30 faceoff.
