UNB moves to No. 3 in CIS hockey rankings

OTTAWA – The UNB Varsity Reds, coached by Bedeque native Gardiner MacDougall, moved up to No. 3 in this week’s Canadian Interuniversity Sport men’s hockey rankings.

The Varsity Reds flip-flopped positions with the Acadia Axemen. UNB is 16-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) while Acadia is 15-2-3. Both teams are tied for first place atop the Atlantic University Sport standings, and each team has eight regular-season games remaining.

UNB visits the UPEI Panthers on Saturday. Game time at MacLauchlan Arena is set for 7 p.m.
