SYDNEY, N.S. – The Charlottetown Islanders lost 5-1 Sunday to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Cape Breton led 2-0 after the first on goals by Julien Pelletier and Clark Bishop. The score held up until nine minutes into the third when Pelletier scored on the power play.

Charles-Eric Legare scored an empty-net goal with 2:11 left while shorthanded. Spenser Cobbold, from Robert Pelletier, put the Islanders on the board with 1:40 left in the contest before Kyle Farrell rounded out the scoring with a power-play marker with 36 seconds to play. Justin Haché had three assists for the Screaming Eagles.

Zachary Fortin made 32 saves in the win while Mason McDonald made 29 in the loss.

The Islanders have lost four straight to fall to 17-25-1-4 while the Screaming Eagles improved to 24-19-0-3.

Charlottetown is on the road this week with games Friday in Sherbrooke, Saturday in Victoriaville and Sunday in Drummondville.
