Souris pulls out one-goal decision in Tignish

TIGNISH – The Souris Hawks pulled out a 4-3 victory over the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces on Friday night.

The Tignish Credit Union Arena was the site of the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League contest.

T.J. Donahue (2), Jordan Roche and Ryan Compton scored for the Hawks, who received helpers from Matthew Birt, Mark McKenna, Gabriel Leger and Luke McDonald.

Dylan Ellis (2) and Riley Shea countered for the Aces. Karter Hackett, Kirk Ramsay, Tyson Carragher and Charlie Bernard chipped in with single assists.

The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period, and Souris took a 4-3 advantage into the second intermission.

Kelton Ellis picked up the goaltending win over Jake Hackett. Overall, Tignish outshot Souris 38-27.

Referee Justin DesRoches had a quiet night, calling just three minor penalties – two of those against Souris.

Ellis was selected as the Regal Cresting player of the game for the Aces.
