Murphy paces Lynx past Sabres

BELFAST – Andy Murphy scored four goals to lead the Southside Lynx to a 6-3 victory over the Belfast Sabres in a Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game here Friday night.

Spencer Dougay accounted for the other two Lynx goals, and added an assist for a three-point night. Sawyer Mayne, Brandon Green, Marshall Mayne, Cody Dawson, Kevin Noonan and Tim Paynter collected single assists.

For the Sabres, Lee Shepherd (1-1), Colin McGuirk and Carter MacLellan found the back of the net.

The Lynx held period leads of 2-0 and 4-1.

Winning goaltender was John Miller, and Ben Ladner took the loss.

Referee Mike Annear called five minors, one hitting-to-the-head major, one fighting major and two game misconducts against the Lynx. The Sabres picked up five minors, one fighting major and one game misconduct.
