SUMMERSIDE – Rookie Alex Kelly will make his 15th appearance of the 2013-14 MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) regular season for the Summerside Western Capitals tonight (Friday).

Kelly will get the start for the visiting Capitals against the Bridgewater Lumberjacks in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) contest.

Capitals’ No. 1 goaltender Simon-Pier Chamberland was injured in a collision early in Wednesday night’s game in Miramichi, and will not dress this evening. The Caps have called up Jordan Zember to back up Kelly tonight.

Kelly has compiled a 3-7-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) record this season, along with a 3.32 goals-against average and .900 save percentage.

The Capitals go into the game with an 11-18-2-2 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses) record. Bridgewater is last overall in the 11-team league at 2-29-3-2. However, one of those wins came in Summerside early in the season.

Tonight will mark the debut of new Bridgewater head coach Travis Young, a former assistant coach with the Acadia Axemen.
