CHARLOTTETOWN – Forward Cameron MacMurdo of the North River Flames and defenceman Alex Hughes of the Sherwood Falcons were named the players of the week in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League.

MacMurdo recorded nine points – five goals and four assists – over the weekend as he led the Flames to a 2-1 (won-lost) record in three one-goal games.

The Flames’ leading scorer moved into the top five in league scoring with 34 points, including 19 goals. He has recorded points in all but three of 20 regular-season games so far this season, and is having his best season offensively by far.

Hughes played two strong games defensively to help the Falcons pick up three of a possible four points on the weekend.

The Falcons’ win on Monday night versus Souris ended a long losing streak in which they lost a lot of very tight games.

The Sherwood rookie had a goal and an assist in two games last week.
