Titan scores late goal to get by Islanders

CHARLOTTETOWN – Raphael Lafontaine scored at 17:28 of the third period to snap a 1-1 tie and lift the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to a 2-1 win over the Charlottetown Islanders on Sunday afternoon.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game attracted 2,943 fans to the Eastlink Centre.

Scott Oke opened the scoring for the Titan at 16:30 of the first period, and the score remained 1-0 until Vladislav Lysenko’s power-play goal pulled the Islanders even at 10:15 of the third period.

Jacob Brennan was the winning goaltender. Mason McDonald was between the pipes for the Islanders.

The Titan improved to 17-23-2-2 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses), and the Islanders dropped to 17-22-1-4.
