Rainmen rally in second half past Storm

HALIFAX – The Halifax Rainmen overcame an 11-point deficit at halftime to defeat the Island Storm 96-88 here at the Metro Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Rainmen outscored the Storm 27-16 in the third quarter to start the comeback.

Chris Matthew scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Rainmen, who received a 22-point effort from Jason Williams.

Antonio Ballard led the Storm with 22 points and six rebounds. Steve Techiengang and Shawn Vanzant each chipped in with 11 points.

The Storm visits the Saint John Mill Rats on Thursday.
