Miller, MacIsaac help Lynx sink Caps

SLEMON PARK – Rob Miller and Joel MacIsaac each scored hat tricks to account for the Southside Lynx’s scoring in a 6-1 triumph over the Summerside Source for Sports Capitals.

The Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior Hockey League contest was played at The Plex in Slemon Park on Friday night.

Cody Dawson (3), Marshall Thomas (2), Andy Murphy (2), Ivan MacPhail, Blake MacKenzie, Colton Dawson and Alex MacLeod earned assists.

Taylor Albert, assisted by Nathan Arsenault and Tyler Dexter, netted the lone goal for Summerside, which had its four-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 11-9-1 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses).

The Lynx built period leads of 2-0 and 4-1.

Dylan Garnhum earned the goaltending decision over Catlin Sonier.

Referee Mike Annear called six minor penalties against the Lynx while the Caps were whistled for four minor infractions.

The Lynx host the Belfast Sabres at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud on Saturday at 7:40 p.m. Southside takes a two-point lead over Belfast atop the league standings into the contest.
