SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside Western Capitals made a pair of moves before Friday’s 10 p.m. roster deadline.

The Caps dealt forward Zen Hamil to the Winkler Flyers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League in exchange for future considerations, and in a separate deal acquired the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) rights to 17-year-old defenceman Guillaume McSween from the Bridgewater Lumberjacks in exchange for the rights to forward Peter Kavanagh of Ferryland, N.L., and future considerations.

In  28 regular-season games with the Caps, Hamil had five goals and 10 assists for 15 points.

Capitals general manager Pat McIver said McSween is on his way to Summerside.

The Capitals are back in action on Saturday against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers at Eastlink Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
