Bantam Falcons drop two games

BEDFORD, N.S. – The Sherwood Falcons dropped two games at the East Coast Ice Jam hockey tournament on Friday.

The Falcons dropped an 8-2 decision to the Kings Mutual Valley Wildcats and lost 9-2 to the Truro Bearcats. The Falcons, who lost 8-1 to the KV Rangers on Thursday, completed round-robin play at 0-3 (won-lost).

The East Coast Ice Jam features bantam AAA and major midget divisions. The Falcons are members of the P.E.I. Irving Oil Bantam AAA Hockey League.

Against the Wildcats, the Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period. However, the Wildcats responded with eight unanswered goals.

Alex Josey and Stephen Ready scored for the Falcons, who led 1-0 after the first period and trailed 4-2 at the end of two.

The Falcons also jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the Bearcats on goals by Connor MacGregor and Nicholas Brown.

The Falcons led 2-1 after the first period, but the Bearcats were in front 5-2 after the second.
