CHARLOTTETOWN – The Charlottetown Islanders unleashed a 47-shot attack on Moncton Wildcats goaltender Jason Rioux in a 4-1 win on Sunday afternoon.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League contest attracted 2,078 fans to Eastlink Centre.

Daniel Sprong, Spenser Cobbold, Matthew Cusson and Alexandre Goulet scored for the Islanders, who improved to 16-20-1-4 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses).

Former Summerside Western Capital Chris Caissy countered for the Wildcats (22-19-0-2).

Mason McDonald earned the goaltending win.

The game’s three stars were:

1. Mason McDonald (Islanders), 2. Daniel Sprong (Islanders), 3. Jason Rioux (Wildcats).
