The 16-year-old defenceman from the Blue Shank Road, just outside Kensington, earned two assists and was named the game’s second star in the Sea Dogs’ 2-1 win over the Moncton Wildcats before 4,471 fans at the Moncton Coliseum on Sunday.
Webster is an assistant captain with the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild of the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League, and was recalled by the Sea Dogs on Friday. He did not dress in Saturday’s 5-4 loss to Moncton in Saint John, N.B. The Sea Dogs drafted the son of Jason and Tara Webster in the seventh round of the 2013 draft.
Spencer Smallman, who has family connections to West Prince, opened the game’s scoring with his eighth goal of the season.
Chris Caissy, who played with the Summerside Western Capitals of the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) last season, assisted on Moncton’s goal.
