Dawsons, Miller pace Lynx past Flames

CORNWALL – The Southside Lynx spread out the offence in a 7-2 victory over the North River Flames here at the APM Centre in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League on Saturday night.

Cody Dawson scored three goals, Colton Dawson collected four assists and Rob Miller helped set up three tallies to lead the Lynx, who improved to 12-2-3 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses). Andy Murphy (1-1), Joel MacIsaac, Spencer Dougay and Ryan Beckingham rounded out the scoring, with single helpers credited to Ivan MacPhail and Brandon Green.

Cameron MacMurdo and Bradley Vukicevic answered for the Flames (5-10-2).

The Lynx led 2-1 after the opening period, and then scored five unanswered goals in the middle frame to take a commanding 7-1 lead into the second intermission.

Winning goaltender was John Miller.
