Midget AAA teams meet again in Summerside on Sunday

SOURIS – Tyler Rose scored a hat trick to lead the Kings County Kings to a 5-2 victory over the Summerside Hemphill GM Capitals on Friday night.

P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League

The Kings hosted the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League contest at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex.

Kenny McKinnon (1-1) and Matt MacKinnon also scored for the Kings, who upped their record to 6-8-3 (won-lost-tied). Keirsten Steele had a big game with four assists, and Chase MacLeod added a pair of helpers.

Brandon Arsenault and Chasse Gallant replied for the Capitals (4-8-3). Single helpers were credited to Brady Albert, Joel Arsenault, Jesse MacFarlane and Ryan Campbell.

The Kings built period advantages of 3-1 and 5-1.

Winning goaltender was Jed Walsh. Koby Bridges was between the pipes for the Capitals.

The Kings will pay a return visit to Summerside on Sunday to close out the weekend home-and-home series. Fans are asked to note the game time at Credit Union Place is 4:25 p.m.
