Webster, a seventh-round selection, 113th overall, by the Sea Dogs in 2013, was to practise with the Sea Dogs on Friday night. He is expected to be available to play on Saturday night, when the Sea Dogs open the second half of the season against the Moncton Wildcats at Harbour Station.
The Sea Dogs pay a return visit to Moncton on Sunday for a 4 p.m. start.
The six-foot-three and 194-pound Webster, who is an assistant captain, has two goals and 14 points in 21 regular-season games with the Wild in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League.
The 16-year-old son of Jason and Tara Webster of the Blue Shank Road, just outside of Kensington, had one goal in two pre-season games with the Sea Dogs.
The Sea Dogs, who have a couple of players participating in the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Cape Breton, also recalled forward Mathieu Joseph from the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League.
