TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry's Construction Aces will host the North River Flames at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Junior C action.
Aces currrently riding a three-game winning streak while the Flames split their last two losing to first-place Belfast 5-3 and rode the hot hand of goalie Taylor Doyle who recorded 41 saves in a 9-0 shutout of Sherwood. Doyle is expected to get the nod and currently is in second place in goals against average.
Aces goalie Chase Dyment is coming off a superb third period versus Summerside as his aces fought back from a 3-1 deficit to record a 5-4 win over Summerside last Friday in Tignish. Dyment's effort earned him the league's defensive player of the week.
For the second consectutive week the Aces have the offensive player of the week as Riley Shea rode a one goal, two assists effort to succeed Traven Gaudet who, the week before, recieved the award. Gaudet currently leads the league in goals with 18 while Shea is second in the league in points as he moved within three of the league's leader.
Aces coach Brian Hogan is happy to have his captain Kirk Ramsay back and forwards Brett Gaudet and Alex Brennan to the lineup.
Aces forward Slade Handrahan recieved the Aces Regal Cresting player of the game last Friday with a one goal, two assists effort. Hogan noted, however, that Handrahan will be unavailable for the weekend.
Aces forward Reily Doyle also returned to the lineup last weekend.
The Aces are hoping for a good holiday crowd for tonight's match.
