Gaudet’s late goal gives Aces road win

CORNWALL – Traven Gaudet scored his second goal of the game with 1:24 remaining in the third period snapped a 2-2 tie and gave the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces a 3-2 road win over the North River Flames on Saturday night.

After a scoreless first period at the APM Centre, the Aces took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission.

Justin Holroyd got the Flames on the board at 9:10 of the third period, and Cameron MacMurdo’s goal with 1:42 remaining tied the game.

Gaudet and Tyson Carragher staked the Aces to a 2-0 advantage. Shelby LeClair, Dylan Ellis, Riley Shea and Slade Handrahan earned assists.

Winning goaltender was Chase Dyment. Kurt Willis was between the pipes for North River.

Referee Jeff Affleck called just three minor penalties in the game – two of those against Tignish.
