BELFAST – The third period was the difference in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game between the visiting Summerside Source for Sports Capitals and host Belfast Sabres on Saturday night.

The Sabres scored four unanswered goals in the final 20-minute period to turn a 3-2 deficit after 40 minutes into a 6-3 victory. The second-place Sabres, who trail the league-leading Southside Lynx (11-2-3) by two points, improved to 11-3-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) while the Caps dropped to 7-7-1.
At the Belfast Rec. Centre, Cody Garnhum scored a third-period hat trick to lead the Sabres, who received single goals from Simon VanWiechen (1-2), Cody McGuirk (1-2) and Mike MacQuillan. Nolan Irving (3), Jared Fraser and Matt Glover added assists.
For the Capitals, who led 2-0 after the first period, Greg Arsenault (2-1) and Matt MacDonald found the back of the net. Josh Bernard chipped in with a single helper.
Winning goaltender was Ben Ladner, and Koby Bridges tended goal for Summerside.
Referee Travis Timmons called four minors and one 10-minute misconduct against Summerside. The Sabres received two minors, one double minor for roughing and one 10-minute misconduct.
