CHARLOTTETOWN – Greg Arsenault of the Summerside Source for Sports Capitals has been named the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League’s offensive player of the week.

Arsenault scored a hat trick and added an assist in a 5-3 home win over the Souris Hawks on Friday night, and followed that performance up with a pair of goals in a 7-6 shootout loss to the league-leading Southside Lynx in Crapaud on Saturday night.

Arsenault leads the Capitals in scoring with 15 points in 10 games.

Defensive player

Belfast Sabres goaltender Jason Whiteway was selected as the league’s defensive player of the week.

Whiteway, who is only two weeks removed from his last player-of-the-week award, helped the Sabres extend their winning streak to 10 games.

Whiteway allowed just three goals on 62 shots in two tough wins over the Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces on the road and at home against the North River Flames. Whiteway’s save percentage in those two games was .952.
