In road win over Falcons

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Western Regals’ penalty-killing units delivered in a 5-3 road victory over the Sherwood Falcons on Monday night.

P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League

The Regals killed off all eight Sherwood power plays in the P.E.I. Midget AAA Hockey League game at the Cody Banks Arena. Western went 0-for-2 on the power play as the Regals were called for eight of the game’s 10 minor penalties.

Brett Aylward (2), Jake Arsenault (2-1) and Brendan Shea (1-2) lit the lamp for the league-leading Regals, who improved to 11-1-3 (won-lost-tied). Brendan Smith (2), Brayden Arsenault and Chase McCue chipped in with helpers.

Jordan Birt (1-1) and Riley Dunphy replied for the Falcons (4-3-5). Single helpers went to Cody Ramsay, Tanner McLean, Dylan MacDonald, Matthew Sinnott and Tanner Lund.

The Regals led 3-1 after the first and second periods.

Kristen Clements recorded the goaltending win. Jeremy Ramsay and Ethan Malcolm shared the goaltending duties for the Falcons.
