In major midget hockey action
BERWICK, N.S. – Max Morrison’s third-period goal lifted the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild to a 3-2 win over the Valley Wildcats here on Saturday night.
The Wild plays in the New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League, and the Wildcats are members of the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League. The game was part of an inter-locking schedule between the two leagues, which features each team playing two home and two away games against teams in the other league.
The Wild continues their Nova Scotia road trip with a game in Bridgewater against the South Shore Mustangs on Sunday afternoon.
Morrison’s goal, which came with 14:47 remaining, came 10 seconds after Ryan Parker had tied the match 2-2 for the Wildcats.
Michael Evoy and Sam Jay also scored for the Wild while Abel Arsenault and Cole Hackett assisted.
The Wildcats led 1-0 after 20 minutes, but the Wild answered back to take a 2-1 advantage into the second intermission.
Winning goaltender was Bradley Shea.
Kensington was whistled for four minors, one double minor for head contact and one 10-minute misconduct. The Wildcats received five minors, one double minor for head contact and one 10-minute misconduct.
