CHARLOTTETOWN – Olivier Archambault and Nick Sorensen added to the Charlottetown Islanders’ woes in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League on Saturday night.
Archambault and Nick Sorensen each scored hat tricks to lead the Quebec Remparts to a 6-3 road win over the Islanders, who have now lost seven straight games.
The Islanders, who fell to 13-15-1-3 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses), will look for their first win since Nov. 16 on Sunday, when the Halifax Mooseheads come to Charlottetown for a 4 p.m. start. The Mooseheads, who are second overall in the 18-team Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, are 22-10-0-1.
Before 2,122 fans at Eastlink Centre, the Remparts led 2-0 after the first period, 3-1 following 40 minutes and outshot the Islanders 35-34.
Yan Pavel Laplante, Alexandre Goulet and Daniel Sprong scored for the Islanders.
Callum Booth recorded the goaltending win while Antoine Bibeau took the loss.
Quebec improved to 17-10-3-3.
