TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces will host the second-place Belfast Sabres in a Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game here on Friday.

The opening faceoff at the Credit Union Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

This is the lone game this week for the Aces, who will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak that began in Belfast two weeks ago. The Sabres blanked the Aces 6-0 in that game, and Tignish fell 5-3 to Souris last Friday.

Aces coach Mike O’Halloran reports that many key players have been missing of late due to work commitments, but the team hopes some the depth players can fill the void.

It’s an important part of the schedule for the Aces, who will play their next two home games against Belfast, a team they trail by just two points.

Veteran defenceman Dillon Raynor is returning to the lineup on Friday, and veteran goaltender Jake Hackett will get his second start of the season after missing all but the season opener due to work commitments.

The Aces have the top three goal-scorers in the league – Brett Gaudet (12), Traven Gaudet (11) and Riley Shea (10). Brett Gaudet will miss the next little bit due to work as well.

The Sabres’ goaltending tandem of Ben Ladner and Jason Whiteway has the second-best goals-against average in the league.
