SUMMERSIDE – JP Harvey scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Summerside Western Capitals to a 6-2 victory over the Campbellton Tigers on Sunday afternoon.

The Summerside Western Capitals’ JP Harvey bangs away at a rebound in front of Campbellton Tigers goaltender Alexis Paiement during the first period of Sunday afternoon’s MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) game at Eastlink Arena.
The MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) contest was played before an estimated crowd of 600 fans.
Bruce Hornbrook (1-2), Thomas Stavert (1-1) and Brad Power also scored for the Capitals, who improved to 5-11-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses). Rookie defenceman Cavan Fizgerald chipped in with three assists while single helpers went to Michael Crocock and Blaize Bridges.
Mathew Astle and Andrew Meredith replied for the Tigers (3-13-1-1).
The Caps led 3-1 after the first period, and 4-2 following 40 minutes.
Overall, the Caps outshot the Tigers 46-26. Simon-Pier Chamberland earned the goaltending win over Alexis Paiement.
The Caps’ next home game is against Miramichi on Sunday, Nov. 10. Fans are asked to note the start time is 7 p.m.
