TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces’ penalty killers rose to the occasion on Monday night.

The Aces killed off nine of 10 power plays, and jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period en route to a 4-1 road win over the Sherwood Falcons on Monday night.
Rylie Shea scored two goals while Slade Handrahan and Mitch Doucette each picked up a pair of assists in leading the Aces’ offence in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League game, played at the Cody Banks Arena.
Dylan Ellis and Traven Gaudet also scored for the Aces, who led 4-0 after 40 minutes and improved to 2-1-0 (won-lost-overtime losses). Alex Brennan, Brett Gaudet and Calvin McRae chipped in with single helpers.
Brody MacArthur netted the lone goal for the Falcons (1-3-0).
Overall, the Falcons outshot the Aces 37-31, thanks to a 15-6 advantage in the third period. Chase Dyment earned the goaltending win over Steve Lannigan.
Referee Mike Annear called eight minors, three double minors, one fighting major and two game misconducts against Tignish. The Falcons received one minor, two double minors, one fighting major and one game misconduct.
