Ten different Holland College players record points
CHARLOTTETOWN – Blake Ozon of Summerside scored two goals to lead the Holland College Hurricanes’ balanced offensive attack in a 5-3 win over the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings on Saturday night.
A total of 10 different players recorded points for the Hurricanes in the Island Junior Hockey League contest, played at Simmons Sport Centre.
Andrew Skinner, Pat Cummiskey and Alex Seyforth also scored for the Hurricanes, who improved to 3-2-2 (won-lost-overtime/shootout losses). Curtis Hall, John Grimmer, Curtis Martell, Ryan Trowsdale, Logan Welsh and Will Connolly all earned single assists.
For the Red Wings, Colton Gallant, Robbie Fraser and Tanner Gallant found the back of the net. Tyson Phillips, Tayler Smith, JP Provencher and Cleve McNeill added helpers.
The teams were tied 1-1 after one period, and the Hurricanes held a 3-2 advantage at the end of 40 minutes.
Matt Derry was the winning goaltender, and Chris Gallant suffered the loss. The Hurricanes outshot the Red Wings 34-29.
Two games are on tap in the league on Sunday. The Red Wings host the Sherwood A&S Scrap Metal Falcons at the Evangeline Recreation Centre in a 7:30 p.m. start.
Meanwhile, at Community Gardens in Kensington, the Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers will entertain the Montague Maniacs at 7 p.m.
